If you live in Georgetown, ordering food to your door is a solved problem. There are apps, there are drivers, and there is an established delivery system that people already know how to use. Linden has not had that. The infrastructure simply was not built here.
What ordering in Linden usually looks like
You find a number for a place you like. You call it. You wait for somebody to pick up — which may or may not happen, depending on how busy the kitchen is. When they do answer, they read the menu to you down the phone, and you try to hold it in your head while asking what each thing costs.
Then delivery is a separate conversation. Is anyone free to bring it? How much extra? How long? If the answer is no, you are going out to collect it yourself, which was the thing you were trying to avoid.
What Kinnect changes
The menu is on the screen. Every item has its price printed next to it, so you can see exactly what a restaurant has and exactly what it costs before you commit to anything. Nobody has to answer a phone for your order to go through — the process runs start to finish in the app.
Delivery is part of the same few taps rather than a second negotiation. If you do not want to leave the house, you do not have to, and you know the cost up front instead of at the door.
Linden and Georgetown, one account
Kinnect runs in both. Georgetown users get an alternative to the apps already operating there; Linden users get the first system of this kind built for them specifically. The same account works in either place, and the same account also covers rides, trades and services, and job listings — so it is not a separate sign-up each time you need something different.
Getting started
Browse restaurants without creating an account first — you can see who is listed and what they charge before deciding whether to sign up. When you are ready to order, an account takes a minute.
